LTI is pleased to announce a new service enhancement for users of the Authority Express service: the ability to add or delete authority records from LTI's copy of the library's authority files.
Text files of LC control numbers (beginning "n" or "s") or of MeSH control numbers beginning "D" may be sent via FTP. The filename must begin with the library's 5 letter username and follow the other instructions for assigning AEX filenames. Use the filename extension ".aradd" to add the records or the extension ".ardel" to delete the records. Separate files must be sent for each function.
If any number in the file is not a correctly structured control number, the file will not process and an error report will be generated, listing the control number(s) that did not meet the requirement. As with other AEX processing, the turnaround time will be no more than 30 minutes.
The cost for each file sent and processed will be $10. There is no "per record" charge for this service.
